My name is Francesca McAuliffe. I’m an adventure seeking, fun loving, motivational and uplifting, Type One Diabetic from Staten Island, NY. Self care, community building, opportunity chasing, and positive thinking have allowed me to accomplish dreams, make the most of relationships, learn from and inspire those around me. I’m constantly cheering on colleagues and students at P.S. 55 where I serve as the school’s Principal. This September I earned my WMM Six Star Medal in Berlin and just recently achieved a personal best while completing my eighth 26.2 miler in the 2023 TCS NYC Marathon. I have adored training, since first joining the Susan Wagner HS varsity long distance team so many years ago as a way of staying fit for soccer and keeping my blood sugar readings in range. Self care Sundays always include a long run; getting regular three to four mile sessions in with my gal pal Brigid, have supported healthy time away from technology. Being a marathoner is something I am very proud of. The dedication, planning, and camaraderie are super rewarding. My current goal is to complete another four in 2024. Run joyfully everyone!
